In line with its commitment to women’s empowerment and gender equality, SM Supermalls, through its corporate social responsibility arm, SM Cares, launched this year’s Women’s Month celebration with a series of events championing a safe, inclusive, and enabling environment for women.

Promoting safe spaces for women at SM

Nearly 17,000 SM Supermalls front liners, employees, and partners gathered at the SM North Edsa Sky Dome and online on March 1 for a nationwide orientation on the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law) or Republic Act No. 11313. The Act penalizes gender-based sexual harassment committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions, workplaces, and online.  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Atty. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez served as the forum’s keynote speaker and expounded on gender-based sexual harassment and the Safe Spaces Act.

Organized by SM Cares, in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the DOLE, the forum is part of SM’s ongoing nationwide campaign to promote a safe, inclusive and empowering environment for women, and builds on the success of the first Safe Spaces Act orientation in October 2023, which saw the participation of 7,614 attendees from SM malls across the country.

SM Assistant Vice President and Program Director Jessica Sy reaffirmed SM’s commitment to preventing harassment and gender bias against women, especially within its premises.

“We recognize that there are ongoing, systemic challenges that Filipinas continue to face today, both in the workplace and in society. By actively engaging with the public sector to educate our own people on the Safe Spaces Act, we remain committed to uphold the rights and dignity of women”.

SM Assistant Vice President and Program Director Jessica Sy

Sy also reflected on the legacy of her grandfather, Mr. Henry Sy, Sr., which underscores the importance of inclusivity and respect in everything SM does, and added, “Remembering this provides a richer context when we say, Bawal bastos sa SM”.

“Walk in Her Shoes” exhibit

The compelling interactive exhibit, ‘Walk in Her Shoes’, by the United Nations Philippines was also launched on the same day and is ongoing until March 10 at the SM North Edsa, Level 3, Main Mall. The exhibit features real stories from women and girls, shedding light on different forms of gender-based violence they experience. The exhibit strives to raise awareness about the widespread nature of violence against women (VAW), encourage reflection on harmful social norms, and inspire collective action to end VAW.

UN Philippines Resident Coordinator Gustavo Gonzales at the opening of the “Walk in her Shoes” exhibit

During the launch, UN Philippines Resident Coordinator Gustavo Gonzalez thanked the PCW for leading efforts to empower women, and SM Cares and SM Supermalls for providing the space and platform to raise awareness about gender inequality and gender-based violence.

“Gender equality demands a whole-of-government, whole-of-society approach. Only through collaboration across sectors can we dismantle harmful norms and build a world where women and girls enjoy the same rights and opportunities as men,”

UN Philippines Resident Coordinator Gustavo Gonzalez

He also added that gender equality has economic impacts as it results in sustainable development.

PCW Officer-in-Charge Atty. Khay Ann MagundayaoBorlado listens to a survivor’s story of resilience in one of the booths of ‘Walk in Her Shoes’. Through this exhibit, the UN Philippines hopes to raise awareness on gender-based violence, encourage behavioral change, and foster safer spaces for women and girls.

SM lights up in purple to welcome Women’s Month

In solidarity with the ‘Purple Your Icon’ advocacy initiated by the PCW, several iconic SM landmarks and malls across the country lit up in purple to support the advancement of gender equality and women’s empowerment for a brighter future.

“Adorning our surroundings this month with purple serves not only as a beautiful tribute, but also as a powerful symbol. Purple signifies the spirit of women’s rights, highlighting the fight for equality and empowerment. It represents a future where limitations and stereotypes are transcended,”

PCW Officer-in-Charge Atty. Khay Ann Magundayao-Borlado.

SM Supermalls, through its social responsibility arm, SM Cares, champions women’s equality, empowerment, health, and welfare through its ongoing programs aimed at building a future where every woman feels safe, valued, respected, and enabled to reach her full potential.

Coming up with a wholesome meal plan could be a struggle for both experienced and new cooks alike — especially a healthy one! Scrolling through social media for a recipe worth trying could be mind-numbing.

Search results for a “healthy meal” would most likely just lead to multiple choices of greens; and a drastic change in diet like this could be intimidating for most. Adapting to a flexitarian diet can be an easier approach.

Love,

It was 2022 when I first set my foot in Da Nang, and that particular moment was indescribable. There’s something with DaI was there to attend VITM 2022, but I didn’t get to explore as much, which is why I promised myself to come back. Who knows that after a year, I will be able to come back and experience the magic? Just this December 2023, I joined the fam tour for travel agents, organized by Restour. By reading this article, you will understand why I was spellbound in Vietnam as I share my Vietnam 2023 travel highlights.

If you are one of my followers on Facebook, you already have seen my daily updates during my Vietnam trip (fully-loaded tours, food diaries, OOTD, and shopping) I have too may photos and video clips to share, that’s why I ended finishing up only half of Day 4. Time flies so fast, and the next thing I know, it’s 2024! 😅😂🤣 I felt a twinge of guilt as I wasn’t able to keep my promise, but one thing is for sure– that I will share my Vietnam 2023 travel highlights here on my blog. It has to be published this month (by hook or by crook)

Probably you have been wondering why I fell in love with Da Nang, and I even came back 😁 Okay, here are the reasons why Da Nang is special.

  • It has a vibrant city center, breathtaking beaches, and an impressive cultural heritage.
  • There is a wide variety of sightseeing opportunities and thrilling activities available to all types of travelers.
  • It boasts delectable cuisine. The seafront eateries and street food stalls make this a dream destination for foodies.
  • Da Nang is an easy-to-access hub that connects Hoi An, Hue, and My Son.
  • I love the people’s warm hospitality.

I was really glad, there’s a direct flight to Da Nang now. (2 hours and 30 minutes travel time) Before, we had to land to Ho Chi Minh first, then transfer to Da Nang Airport 😴 It’s very convenient and that was made possible by Cebu Pacific, which has launched direct flights to Da Nang on December 7, 2023.

Manila-Danang flights operate thrice a week-every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

My Arrival in Da Nang

The Blogger Princess at the Danang International Airport
Yay! I’m in Da Nang! Can’t wait for the fun-filled adventures!

Although we arrived in Danang in the evening, I wasn’t exhausted; in fact, I was excited! To my excitement, I wasn’t able to go to an ATM machine to withdraw cash 😅 On our way to the arrival area, we were welcomed by the Restour Tean.

On our way to our hotel, Sir Phu, our tour guide shared with us some interesting facts about Vietnam. It totally explains why it’s safe to travel to Vietnam and tourists keep coming back.

EDEN HOTEL DA NANG is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ beachfront hotel in Danang. For 3 days and 2 nights, it was our home.

Location 📍 294 Vo Nguyen Giap, My An Ward, Nguyen Hanh Son District, Da Nang City

One thing I like about EDEN HOTEL is its location— it’s just a few steps away from the beach!

When we got off the bus, we saw the welcome greetings on the screen from the main entrance of the hotel 🏨 Our tour guide (Phu) and the lovely Ms. Hoa escorted us to the lobby and gave us instructions.

Although the hotel was not large or luxurious, it had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and I knew I would have a great time staying there. Probably the holiday atmosphere was set by the Christmas tree and other holiday decorations, but it was the hospitality of both the hotel staff and restaurant team which  created the heartwarming experiences.

Our partial seaview room 💓

We stayed in a partial sea view room with twin beds. We were unaware of the partial sea view at first because we didn’t bother opening the curtain.😅🤣😂

After a quick room inspection, I was certain it had met my standards:

  • soft and comfy bed and linens ✔️
  • spotless room 🫧✔️
  • spacious toilet with bath tub and hot shower 🛀✔️
  • strong WIFI connection 📶✔️
  • a comfortable desk where I can have my morning coffee and work ✔️
  • a whole-body mirror where I can take a look at my reflection and say ” Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who is the most drop-dead gorgeous blogger among them all?” 🪞🪄✔️
my mandatory mirror selfie
My favorite routine for my room tour— the mirror shot for my OOTD 😄

And the mirror responded: ”It’s still you, THE BLOGGER PRINCESS 👸, but you need to freshen up because you look haggard today!” Oh, well! It was time to change my outfit. La-di-da-di-da…🎶 Ta-da!

OOTD 💃

And it’s OOTD time– My roommate and I just grabbed something comfy in our luggage 😍 We needed to go out anyway because we need to find an ATM machine to withdraw some cash.

Uhmmm, we didn’t talk about what we were going to wear, huh? It just happened that we picked the same style. 😂😂😂

Coffee Time! ☕at Highlands Coffee

While we were walking and searching for an ATM machine, we passed by Highlands Coffee. We were so exhausted and we knew we needed a dose of caffeine, so we checked if we can order using our debit card because we don’t have any money 😂. We were lucky because they accept cards 💳 , so we were saved for the night.

In Vietnam, Highlands Coffee is popular.
In Vietnam 🇻🇳, Highlands Coffee ☕️ is popular.

Here’s what we ordered:

Ca Phe Phin (blended iced coffee ☕️) and Banh Mi Que (Vietnamese Bread )🥖 Stick Baguette Snack with Chicken and Cheese )

Price: 39,000 Vnd or ₱89.35

The coffee was kinda strong enough to keep us stimulated and awake– to plan for our Vietnam adventure. We had to unpack and organize our stuff. It was a blessing that Queen was assigned as my roommate. We are both “kikay”, and best of all, I was inspired because of her stories– just in time to keep me motivated.

When we woke up, we fell in love 🥰 😍 with the stunning view of the beach. We were unaware that we had a partial ocean view because we checked in at night 😂

OOTD 💃

On Day 2, we’ll be heading to Ba Na Hills for our first tour, which is why we chose to wear a dress for the photoshoot. At first, I was hesitant to wear the pair of sneakers because I thought it wouldn’t look good with the girly red dress, but on the contrary, it actually looked good on me. 😉

Breakfast 🥞☕️

I enjoy breakfast buffets because they offer a variety of options. In any staycation, This is something I look forward to, because I’m sure I will have a happy tummy.

If you book a 5-day and 4-night Da Nang travel package with Tripsdiary Travel and Tours, you can expect a comprehensive itinerary and a magical adventure. Keep on reading, guys! Fasten your seatbelts and let’s take a sweet ride.

You shouldn’t miss Bana Hills when you’re in Vietnam 🇻🇳 This is worth visiting not only for its incredible and breathtaking views, beautiful and colorful gardens, entertainment, and a unique culinary experience. The magic begins with a pose at the main entrance.

Buffet Lunch @ Ba Na Hills

I totally enjoyed the buffet lunch 🥰 I’ve already mentioned that I love buffets because it allows you to choose your own food instead of being constrained to a set menu.

Because you have the freedom of culinary exploration, here’s what I have tried– strawberry-guava juice with condensed milk 🥤💓 There’s also a variety of food options: different chicken dishes, pasta, pizza, and pastries. Our bellies were satisfied once more, so we were prepared for another half-day activity!

French Village

Take a trip back in time by immersing yourself in the enchanting French Village at Ba Na Hills. A unique experience of French culture in medieval Europe awaits you at the village. 😍❤️ Take a stroll through the streets with charming cafes, cathedral, fountain, and the town square.

Christmas at Ba Na Hills
Feeling the holiday spirit 🎄❄️

Visiting Ba Na Hills in December was a trip of a lifetime as we were transported to a breathtaking European-inspired winter wonderland. You will be blown away by the festive atmosphere as you marvel at the sparkling pearls of vibrant colors, Christmas trees, Santa Claus in his red suit, and the enormous gift carts. The kids and the kids-at-heart will definitely love it!

Yeah, it was tiring, but I totally enjoyed Ba Na Hills. If I had the opportunity, I would have liked to stay for a night at the Mercure Danang French Village to complete the magical experience, but it wasn’t included in our itinerary. This is something I want to put on my list for my next trip to Da Nang.

Da nang Mikazuki Japanese Resort & Spa

After the magical experience at Ba Na Hills, we had a quick ocular at Da Nang MikazukiJapanese Resort, a 5-star resort in Da Nang, Vietnam. It is situated on the pristine white sand of Da Nang Bay and offers a unique blend of Vietnamese and Japanese hospitality.

Quick Ocular at Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resort & Spa

As soon as we stepped into the luxury hotel and resort, we felt the urge to spend the night there. I think it’s because of the relaxing ambiance 🥰 Picture yourself waking up to the sound of the waves and the breathtaking ocean view. What else can you ask for?

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Mikazuki team for allowing us to view one of the luxurious rooms and world-class amenities.

The Deluxe Ocean View room

The Deluxe Ocean View Room is a great choice for couples to spend their romantic and memorable vacation.

Here are the special features of the room:

  • Has an area of 70 m2
  • With 2 types of bed (twin or king)
  • A private bathroom 🚽 with shower 🚿 and an outdoor tub 🛁
  • A spacious terrace with panoramic seaview

Although this room category is the lowest, in my opinion, it is enough to have a comfortable and memorable stay. Imagine what more can you experience in higher room categories—pure bliss and pampering!

My Onsen Bath Experience

When I learned from Ms. Hoa that we would have the opportunity to try the Onsen Bath, the world-famous Japanese method of health care, I was filled with excitement..

Benefits of the Osen Bath:

  • Increase blood circulation and metabolism
  • Reduce stress and sleep better
  • Relieve pain
  • Reduce hypertension and arteriosclerosis
  • Treat skin problems
  • Improve the healing process of wounds and cuts
  • Strengthens the body’s resistance

Bathing steps:

1. Wash your body before entering the bath.

2. Check water temperature 🤒 by your feet and rinse the body.

3. Slowly soak half of your body and then the whole body into the bath so that the body gradually adapts to the temperature.

4. Take a sauna. 🧖

5. Soak in the cold water.

6. Relax and drink water after bathing.

We totally enjoyed our Day 1 activities–a combination of adventure and relaxation.

Dinner 🍲

For dinner, we had authentic Vietnamese cuisine at Son Duong Restaurant.

What did I eat?? I loved the spicy tofu dish and vegetable soup.

I couldn’t believe that I had a lot of energy for the day. We even managed to take a walk and I was in the mood to stay up after the very loooooong day.

My Vietnamese Massage Experience

We rewarded ourselves with a whole body massage after the tiring day. We were able to negotiate a one-hour massage for only 160 Vnd or ₱368.32

street massage in Da Nang, Vietnam

It was my first time to try the street massage, and I loved it. If you want to try a Vietnamese massage but have a limited budget, this is the option for you.

If Day 2 is more focused on adventure and relaxation activities, Day 3 is about exploring Vietnamese culture.

Breakfast

Recharging for the day with my usual favorites: eggs, pastries, and coffee!

Son Tra Peninsula

Yay! I have unlocked 🔓 the beauty of Son Tra Peninsula (also known as the Monkey Mountain) This is the perfect place to get away from the hectic city life and explore the pristine and beautiful nature.

Chua Buu Dai Son Monastery

Along the way to the Son Tra Peninsula, there is a colorful Buddhist temple called Chua Buu Dai Son.. Here, you can pray fervently if you believe in superstitions.

One of the most stunning pagodas in Da Nang is the Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula, which also boasts the tallest Lady Buddha statue in Vietnam. The temple features a 67 meter tall statue of Buddha in a female form.

OOTD tip: Like other temples, it is advisable to wear an appropriate clothing. Do not wear shorts, sleeveless tops, or any revealing outfits.

Tien Hieu Marble Handicraft Sculptures

On our way to Hoi An, we made a stop at this store that features items from jewelry to sculptures.

I didn’t buy anything though I was tempted to buy a set of jewelry. Why? Aside from I didn’t have the budget for that, it wasn’t effective for me. I purchased a ring with a large black stone in 2022 with the intention of bringing luck, but it didn’t prove to be a good choice.

Coconut Forest

It’s my first time to ride in a basket boat to visit the green coconut 🌴 forest. This is a popular eco-tourism area that creates a unique experience for tourists who love nature.

It was indeed a very enjoyable experience— watching the boatman do stunts, tricks, dance, and entertaining the tourists with the live performances. The Coconut Forest basket boat ride is a must-try activity when you are in Vietnam.

Lunch at Caffe Thien Trung , Pho Co Hoi An

This is the time that I couldn’t get to eat anything. Thanks to my co-travel agents who gave me 2 hard-boiled eggs 🙏😁❤️

Thang Loi Co Silk Factory 🏭

After lunch, we stopped here to see the process of silk making, which includes breeding silkworms, harvesting them, and weaving them into silk.

You can order for customized dresses and have them delivered to your hotel. Aside from the silk fabrics and ready-made dresses, they also have silk lanterns, shirts, and other stuff.

Hoi An Ancient Town

Our next stop was Hoi An Ancient Town. It is situated in the center of Vietnam’s Quang Nam province, on the northeastern shore near the mouth of the Thu Non River.

In 1999, UNESCO recognized Hoi An as a World Heritage Site due to its excellent preservation of a Southeast Asian trading port during the 15th to 19th centuries.    The buildings are comprised of both local and foreign influences and cultures.

Cafes, restaurants, and other shops 🏬

The sparkling lanterns, old yellow houses, and traditional Vietnamese cuisine will leave you in awe, along with the affordable souvenirs.

Coconut Coffee ☕️ Experience

It would be a shame to miss out on trying the coconut coffee on the sidewalk when visiting Vietnam. Would you believe it’s only 20,000 VND or P45.79— not bad at all😁

The Quan Cong Temple

Hoi An Ancient Town’s Quan Cong Temple is well-known for its distinctive spiritual and architectural craftsmanship, as well as its preservation of traditional cultural values.

Cultural heritage has been preserved in Tan Ky’s old house, which is considered to be the oldest and most beautiful old house in Hoi An. Many valuable antiques have been preserved and it has become a popular spot for tourists.

Shopping at the Market 🛍️

Shopping in the market is fun! There’s a lot of inexpensive items to choose from. I bought coconut coffee, biscuits, shirts, and other souvenirs. I wanted to buy more, but I need to consider my baggage weight; otherwise I might end up paying over the counter.

Dinner

When I dine with other people, they can’t help but notice that I’m a very picky eater. Why? Regardless of how delicious or scrumptious the food is, I won’t eat it, especially if I detect traces of seafood, pork, and beef. It was fortunate for me that there was soup, tofu, and chicken to satiate my hunger that night.

It was also the moment of truth for the Restour Team to discover my li’l secret 😳 Miss Hoa’s honesty and sincerity in pointing out that I should have shared my dietary preferences with her earlier is something I appreciate. I told her that I didn’t want to bother them, so I opted to remain silent and eat whatever I could eat. I observed that she was taking notes. Perhaps she will take into account my dietary preferences for the remaining days. Oh, well! There was a part of me that was upset, but the other part was relieved. Being honest is the best thing to do at all times, after all.

Pajama Party 🎉 with the Da Nang Beauties 😍

It was a long day, but we needed to plan everything since we were going to transfer to Hue on the following day. We thought of having the mini-Christmas party and exchange gifts that night. It was fun meeting new friends with common interests.✈️🧳

Me and my Christmas presents 🎁🎁🎁

Beach 🏝️

It was our last day in EDEN HOTEL DA NANG , so we decided to go out and enjoy the beach before breakfast. Sayang naman ang beachfront hotel 🏨, di ba? So, yes! It was time to hit the beach 🏖️

Breakfast

Oh, yeah!  The thought of starting another day an adventure filled us with excitement.  I was curious about the experience of visiting Hue. I knew that this time would be different because we have the opportunity to stay at a five-star resort with an incredibly relaxing ambiance.

Bye, Da Nang!

So, it was time to say goodbye to Da Nang and our home for 3 days and 2 nights, Eden Hotel. After a few hours, we will be staying at the Pilgrimage Village Hue.

I opted for blue floral jumpshorts to create a feminine and relaxing vibe while we were visiting two five-star resorts.

Vedana Lagoon Resort Ocular

After checking out at Eden Hotel Danang, we had a quick ocular at Vedana Lagoon Resort.

Nestled on the shores of an idyllic and peaceful lagoon, The Vedana Lagoon Resort offers stunning views of one of the largest lagoons in Southeast Asia.

Upon our arrival, we received a warm welcome from the staff. After traveling from Da Nang to Hue, they served us hot tea and gave us cold towels, which was exactly what we needed to relax.

Lunch

I really commend Restour for the well-organized fam trip. Actually, I have read in our GC that we should inform them about the participant’s dietary preferences, but I have opted not to. I didn’t want to cause any inconvenience to my co-participants. Shoutout to Ms. Hoa 🥰, when she found out that I prefer chicken and eggs, she made sure that I can eat well every day.

The Aviary

After the ocular to the different rooms, we checked the aviary. It was so relaxing. Admiring the beauty of nature while hearing the chirping of the birds made me feel like we were in paradise.

Thank you so much, Ms. Nina for accommodating us. We really enjoyed the tour! Special thanks also to Ms. Cristy Gonzales, the Assistant General Manager ❤️

KhaiDinh King’s Tomb

After visiting Vedana Lagoon Resort & Spa, we made our way to Kha Dinh Tomb, a captivating tourist attraction in Vietnam located in Cha Chu mountain, which is about 10km away from Hue City.

This tomb is regarded as having the most prominent and impressive structure. Combining European and Asian cultures, it has a perfect balance of classic and modern elements.  The harmony of many architectural features, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Roman, and Gothic, is remarkable.

The tomb’s placement was chosen in line with traditional feng shui.

Interesting facts:

  • Khai Dinh was the last king to build a mausoleum for himself. He started building Ung Lang as his resting place at the age of 35.
  • The tomb was constructed over the course of 11 years. He passed away 5 years after the construction.
  • Khai Dinh Tomb has become a popular and visited attraction in Hue due to its magnificent architecture and historical value.

📍130 Minh Mang Road, Hue, Vietnam

We stayed in a Honeymoon Bungalow twin room. The resort has a calming ambiance. I was tempted to just relax in our room, but we needed to go for another tour. After a quick tour of the room, I refreshed myself by taking a bath.

We were planning to book a spa treatment and have a quick night swimming, but we were too exhausted.

After the relaxing shower, we were ready for the afternoon tour! Let’s go, baby!

Hue Imperial Citadel

In Vietnam, the Hue Imperial Citadel is one of the most impressive heritage sites.. The art and architecture, as well as the history of this pivotal era, make it a worthwhile visit. Located on the northern side of the Perfume River, the complex entails the Forbidden Purple City, royal burial spots, pagodas, temples, the royal quarters, a library, and a museum. Hundreds of monuments dating back to the early 19th century can be found here.

Dinner at Song Huong Floating Restaurant

Thank you so much, RESTOUR Team for the token 😘💓

Shopping 🛍️

This is the part I totally love—shopping!!! I bought a small hand carry suitcase for only P800. I totally need this because I bought a lot of stuff and pasalubong 😁

Room Sweet Room ❤️❤️❤️

After shopping, as much as I would like to swim that night, all I wanna do was to rest. It took me more than an hour to pack everything because the resort staff will be picking up our luggage at 7:30am. If only we stayed in a pool-access room, it would have been easier.

Good Morning ☀️

What a beautiful morning! I loved our honeymoon bungalow and I was sad to leave early. Huhuhu 😢😢😢

Breakfast

Oooh-lala! I definitely loved the buffet breakfast, especially the pastries and Vietnamese iced coffee.

Check-out at Pilgrimage Village

Baby, let’s cruise 🚢

Thien Mu Pagoda

After checking out at The Pilgrimage Village, for our last day of the tour, we proceeded to Thien Mu Pagoda, the oldest temple in Hue City.

Departure back to Manila

As expected, my luggage has exceeded its weight, so I had to purchase another checked baggage 😁 Thanks to Phu for assisting me in organizing my stuff and weighing the luggages.

It was time to leave and go back to Philippines. We had Vietnamese dong to spend for coffee and snacks at the airport, but unfortunately, they only accept USD.

I didn’t feel upset because I knew I would be back. Hopefully, next time I will be able to experience Hanoi and Halong Bay too!

I hope you have enjoyed reading this article. Thank you so much for your support 🙏 Please follow my FB page if you haven’t done it yet. I will share more travel stories soon–after I have finished processing the transfer of Tripsdiary’s business address from Taguig City to Antipolo City. If you have travel requirements, just shoot a message to sales@tripsdiary.ph .

Why Boracay Oceanclub?

In 2022, I have already conducted my ocular visit in Boracay featuring these hotels 🏨🏩🏨🏩 and I have created this listicle.

Movenpick Boracay

Shangri-la Boracay

The Tides Hotel Boracay

The District Boracay

Coast Boracay

Patio Pacific Boracay

Two Seasons Boracay

Boracay Uptown

The Boracay Sandcastles Apartments

Savoy Hotel Boracay

Belmont Hotel Boracay

This year, I wasn’t prepared for my hotel ocular. I was actually planning to visit Cebu and Bohol, but it’s only Shangri-la Mactan who responded to my request. Despite my plans to travel, the airport was closed for the holiday, so I decided to head to Boracay instead. Although I was pressured to request other hotels, I want to express my gratitude to Boracay Oceanclub Beach Resort for allowing me to do the ocular on short notice.

When. I have spoken with Ms. Kristel (Sales & Marketing Manager of Boracay Ocean Club ), she informed me that Boracay Oceanclub is the ideal spot to unwind as it is a beachfront property located in the tranquil area of Station 3. Talk about perfect timing 😁, I haven’t booked our Boracay stay yet. Well, because I’m also a travel agent, I used my ad hoc rates to get discounted price and a room upgrade!

Having this property as my home for 3 days and 2 nights is a fantastic opportunity for me. Creating quality content +an honest review= excellent marketing strategy it to potential guests.

The Location 📍

The southern end of White Beach is where Boracay Oceanclub is located, in the quiet area of Station 3, away from the noise and bustle.

My First Impression

Because we had to walk for 3-5 minutes from the area where the Southwest service vehicle dropped us, I initially complained because we had to personally carry our luggage, which was quite heavy. I also thought that nobody would assist us, but a Southwest staff member showed up in front of us and helped us with our luggage until we reached the hotel. He escorted us to the lobby to check-in.

The facade

My disappointment was replaced by awe when I saw the Boracay Oceanclub sign, as I was captivated by the well-kept property, swimming pool, and restaurants.   The 3-5 minute walk is worth it anyway, as it’s a beachfront property that allows you to go to the beach whenever you want.

We passed through K-Kitchen, where the children were celebrating Halloween, the swimming pool, and a bridge that leads to the lobby, where the front desk is situated.

The lobby

The lobby exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The waiting area provided sufficient seating for guests to feel at ease during check-in and checkout. Guests can leave their luggage in the luggage area for early or late check-in or out, and borrow a towel or rent a beach mat in the towel area if they plan to go to the beach.

Before we move forward with our hotel review, allow me to show you the hotel’s amenities and rooms that we toured during our ocular.

The Hotel Amenities

🧑‍🍳 K-Kitchen

K-Kitchen is situated on the beachfront area of the resort. It offers authentic Filipino, Korean and international cuisine. Aside from a variety of delectable bar specials available, this place also offers an ideal evening with an hourly foam shower, live DJ performances, and a fire dance show.

Upon check-in, you can get your welcome drinks from here (the perfect spot to drink a refreshing cold drink and admire the beauty of the beach.). The buffet breakfast is being served here as well.

☕️ Cafe Surf Beach

Located in the resort’s beachfront area, this local beach cafe serves freshly baked mouth-watering cakes and pastries. In addition to serving wines, spirits, cocktails, and international beers, it also offers a range of other beverages.

🍷 Rooftop Sky Bar

This location is on the 6th floor of the resort and offers one of the most stunning sunset views. It is a perfect for a romantic dinner. For special events, such as weddings, team-building activities, reunions, and more, the area, which can hold up to 300 guests, can be rented.

There is also an infinity pool where you can have a great time swimming with your family and friends.

Room tour

What I liked about Boracay Oceanclub

⭐⭐⭐⭐

The guests feel more comfortable when they stay in a clean room and use well-maintained facilities. The housekeeping team made our stay enjoyable, thanks to their excellent work!

⭐⭐⭐⭐

The front desk staff’s exceptional customer service was a key factor in my overall hotel experience. Why? They create an important impression as the face of the hotel by greeting guests upon check-in and also by responding to their concerns and resolving issues. You can feel assured that you are being cared for when you see their genuine smiles.

The front desk team at Boracay Ocean Club has provided me with assistance, which I am grateful for. 🙏Despite having a problem with my credit card, we were escorted to our Ocean View Suite, where we rested for a while before we get ready for our afternoon activities. They also informed me that there is an ATM within the property where I could withdraw funds. After explaining about the inclusions of our stay, they advised me to just send them a Viber message since the phone is not working. Knowing that there’s a team that’s ready to help you is a relief.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

There’s a daily supply of complimentary 2 coffee sachets and 2 bottles of water. The bathroom has free toiletries as well. It’s funny that we forgot to bring a comb, so we had to get it from one of the stalls near D’mall.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Although there was no closet, there are shelves and cabinets for clothes and shoes that lead to the spacious bathroom. There is a vanity area where you can place your beauty products for your daily skincare and beauty routine.

There’s a separate area for the toilet and shower.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The spacious veranda is something I really enjoy. You can have privacy while sipping coffee and admiring the breathtaking beach view. You can also easily dry your wet clothes by hanging them in the rack. If you prefer not to swim with other guests or in the infinity pool to view the sunset, you can soak yourself in your own private tub.

WIFI connection 🛜

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A stable WIFI connection makes your stay more enjoyable. There is no hassle of checking and updating your social media accounts because you are always connected.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

One thing that I loved about Oceanclub Boracay is the breakfast buffet, as it offered us a seamless experience. We were content with the variety of food selections, and they were also delicious. Even though I’m picky about what I eat, breakfast was a breeze for two days.😜

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The absence of distractions made it possible for us to rest well. In addition, the soft bed, clean pillows, and beddings made our sleep comfortable. The air conditioner worked flawlessly and the room temperature has been just fine.

Suggestions

Don’t get me wrong–I love Boracay Oceanclub 💖, but I think these suggestions will have a significant impact on driving more guests.

💡 Provide a distinctive welcome treat to make guests feel comfortable and special. (This is already being done by other hotels)

💡 Put a mirror 🪞 near the door or closet. The guests would like to see their full-body look, especially the women 😁

💡 Take into account, adding local TV channels. We have only watched Netflix shows during our stay. Guests have different preferences, such as watching the news or other TV programs.

💡 Ensure that the telephone line is fixed to enable communication between the guest, the front desk, and other departments like housekeeping and restaurants. During our stay, we had to go to the front desk if we needed anything, because nobody was responding to my Viber messages.

💡 Providing complimentary mat use instead of renting them for P200 would be appreciated by guests, so I hope the management will also consider this.

💡 Offering turndown service can make guests feel like VIPs and make their stay more enjoyable.

Overall Impression & Recommendations

Overall, we have enjoyed our stay and I will definitely come back. For a beachfront property, the rates are definitely a good deal! I hope you find this review article helpful. Please feel free to shoot an email should you have any questions and if you need assistance to your Boracay bookings.

Love,

Boracay Ocean Club’s beachfront location is something I love. It’s been our home for 3 days and 2 nights. The fact that we had to move to a different hotel made me feel sad.

Perhaps you are wondering why we had to go to different hotels. As a blogger and travel agency owner, I would like to explore different hotels. You can’t recommend something that you haven’t tried.

Morning Activities

Coffee ☕️ with a view

The first thing I did, of course, was to have my superpower, a cup of coffee, while admiring the beauty of the beach from our private veranda. This is a perfect time to just listen to the waves and reflect. Without destruction, you can think properly.

I had to make the most of our final day at the Boracay Ocean Club.Beach Resort We will move to a non-beachfront hotel in a few hours, which will result in fewer beach activities.

Morning Swim

We took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the beach while it’s not yet crowded.

My Crystal Kayak Pictorial

I have scheduled myself for a crystal kayak photo shoot. I just want new photos captured by a good photographer.

If in case you would like to include the crystal kayak photoshoot in your next Boracay trip, here’s the contact details:

📸: Lam Bie 📲 0992 6349460

₱250 is his fee for the photoshoot, but I got it for only ₱150.

Breakfast buffet 🍳☕️

For a picky eater like me, Boracay Ocean Club’s breakfast buffet is a sure hit. As long as scrambled eggs, garlic rice, and pasta are available, I am happy and satisfied.

Before heading to D’mall for lunch, we packed our things and got ready to check out. Thanks to the drying rack in the spacious veranda, our clothes were clean and dry by that time. We just left our luggage at the front desk, and we were advised that we can ask the concierge staff for assistance in calling an e-trike to take us to Ferra.

Lunch 🥗

We just left our luggage at the front desk, and we were advised that we can ask the concierge staff for assistance in calling an e-trike that will take us to Ferra.

Snacks 🍨

We walked to the other side and ordered at Coco Mama, which serves delicious coconut ice cream in a coconut shell. We settled on the small option of P180, which included 2 scoops of ice cream, coconut and pandan, along with fresh coconut strips, mango cubes, and crunchy pinipig. We super enjoyed it while walking back to Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort.

Afternoon Activities

Transfer to Ferra Premiere 🏩

When we returned to Boracay Ocean Club, we sought assistance from the concierge. The staff brought our luggage and escorted us to 7-11. They called an e-trike that took us to Ferra Hotel Boracay.

🏝️ Why Ferra Premiere?

Because I am comparing different hotels, I would also like to try a non-beachfront hotel. Honestly, you can get the rate of one of their rooms in White Beach beachfront hotel, so why the hell did I book here if the rates are quite the same?

Before the pandemic, FERRA was supposed to host The Blogger Princess, so I have done my research. There were blog articles and positive reviews about Ferra Hotel, emphasizing the modern interiors and rooms and impeccable service from the staff.

Due to the pandemic, Ferra was not able to host us, but I became curious, so I wanted to check out and experience the superb service. Imagine, if you can get the same 5-star hotel service in a non-beachfront boutique hotel, I really wouldn’t mind (even if the price is quite the same as that of the beachfront hotels)

Check-in Experience

I was thrilled to experience the exceptional service at FERRA Hotel. Unfortunately, we felt unwelcome that day. It seemed like the front desk staff was facing a big problem that day, because she didn’t even manage to smile, even a fake one.

She informed us that we can use the rooftop pool at the other property (Ferra Gardens), but we have to pay P50 for the rental of towels. We are also not allowed to take the white towels from our room to the pool area, so you had no choice but to rent them.

She asked me to fill out a form asking about our breakfast meal preferences, and now it’s obvious that it was a plated breakfast, not a buffet one. I didn’t know how to react — whether I would be upset or just have a good laugh, because I fell into it. 😂😂😂

We were asked to wait at the restaurant, but after seeing two groups of guests who had already gone to their assigned rooms after drinking their welcome drinks, I went to the front desk area to check. It turned out that she forgot that we were waiting. That is why we were not given welcome drinks while waiting. 😟😥 Another staff escorted us to our loft room, which is just a few steps away from the restaurant where we were waiting. 😅😅

Our Loft Room

Well, obviously this wasn’t a good experience for us–I had high expectations about their exceptional service. Anyway, we loved the interior of the hotel and of course, our loft room.

We had no choice but to just stay in our room for the entire day. When I found out that we had to pay extra for the towel rental, I changed ny mind.

We didn’t have the energy to walk from the hotel to the White Beach, so we just slept. When we woke up, we felt better and we decided to go out and look for an inexpensive restaurant where we can have our dinner.

We went out in our yellow #OOTD to brighten up our mood

Dinner 🥘

Fortunately, we found a sulit dinner for two (Chicken and pork barbecue meal with leche flan) for only P350.00. Andok’s is an absolute hit for budget travelers like us!

After dinner, we just went back to the hotel and rested. So, this is it— we just accepted the fact that we just wasted the half day.

Well, at least I have experienced staying at Ferra and I know for a fact that I couldn’t recommend it. Unless they would like to spend money and it’s okay for them to walk for quite a long time to reach White Beach.

You can view my Day 3 mini-vlog here 👇

I want to express my gratitude for taking the time to follow my Boracay long weekend series (despite the fact that it took me a while). I will be posting a review of the Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort hotel this week as I have promised.

I need your patience, as I’m also occupied with Tripsdiary Travel and Tours, due to significant changes. I won’t be able to share the complete details until they’re confirmed. We are currently accepting investors, so feel free to reach out to sales@tripsdiary.ph to inquire about it.

For collaboration, you can contact me at jasmine@thebloggerprincess.press. Thanks again!

Love,

It’s NOVEMBER, and yes, it’s my birth month! So, it calls for a little celebration 🥳🥳🎈🎉 We had a great time staying in our ocean view suite at the Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort and surrendered to the soothing warmth of the sun, basking in its radiance throughout the day.

Morning Activities

Coffee time ☕

Having a cup of coffee on our spacious veranda was the first thing I did, while the beach’s unparalleled beauty left me spellbound. I also checked my emails, updated my Facebook page with some photos and video clips.   I was able to do business on the side while having a good time thanks to the strong WIFI connection!

Morning swim 🏊

The beach provided us with privacy that we enjoyed. The Ocean Club’s location in Station 3 means it’s not too crowded. The beach beckons us with its soothing whispers, washing away all our worries (If only we can stay there forever, hahaha!) Like kids, we splashed around in the cool, clear water. We seized the opportunity to make the most of our vacation.

The beach is just a few steps away from our hotel, making it easy to swim whenever you want. If you prefer a beachfront hotel, I recommend Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort.

Breakfast buffet

The breakfast buffet was what we were looking forward to!

OOTD 💃

We started with the morning OOTD. I just picked something from my wardrobe — I wore a navy blue beach dress that my aunt sent me. The black floral dress that we ordered from Shein made Shane look stylish. Unfortunately, we were unable to have the usual morning walk due to the rain during that time, so we just went to K-Kitchen for the breakfast buffet.

The food 🥘

I’m a very picky eater, did I mention that? I was totally satisfied with the food, so this is something that I can recommend.

The egg station offers a selection of scrambled, sunny side-up, and omelet options. You can choose from pandesal, white bread, and waffles at the bread station. Although there are many options available, I decided to go with fried chicken, adobong kangkong, cabbage, and pasta bolognese. Shane enjoyed various fruits while we had orange juice.

We had a hearty breakfast and spent the morning in our ocean view suite. We followed our usual routine of charging our phones and updating our social media profiles.

Lunch

Shane and I went to the D’mall to find inexpensive food due to our daily budget.   We stumbled upon Mang Inasal, where we were able to enjoy Chicken Inasal with unlimited rice and a glass of Coke.

(For our meal, we paid ₱396)– not bad, right?

Afternoon Activities

Ocular

At Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort, our hotel ocular is one of the main highlights of Day 2.  In order to promote the hotel and create travel packages, we had to be knowledgeable about the various rooms as their travel partner.

The Pool Access room, Diamond Suite, Family room, and Premiere room were the rooms we viewed. These rooms will be covered in a separate post for my hotel review.

Special thanks to Ms. Kristel (Sales Manager), and Ms. Belle (Sales Associate) for accommodating Tripsdiary Travel and Tours.

🏝️Afternoon Swim

After enjoying the beach earlier in the morning, we opted to swim in the infinity pool on the sixth floor. We chose not to swim in the pool on the ground floor because we wanted some privacy. We took advantage of the opportunity due to the limited number of guests who swim here. We were able to witness the breathtaking sunset as well.

OOTD

For our swimwear, we wore red for the birthday vibes. For dinner, we just picked from our extra clothes, something from our old summer outfits.

Dinner 🥘

For dinner, we walked from Station 3 to Station 1. I was craving pizza, but we needed something within our budget, so we came across Yellow Cab. We spent P587 for the Cheese pizza and desserts (Ok na rin because we didn’t have our snacks, so we saved money)

Netflix night

We headed back to our suite with a satisfied stomach and spent the night watching Netflix.

Love,

In my previous post, I have explained why I have chosen Boracay for my long weekend vacation. Assuming there would be heavy traffic on October 31, Shane and I left early. The nightlife in Boracay this Halloween was something I was quite excited about. I was wondering if the situation was the same prior to the Boracay rehabilitation, with the fire dancers and loud music bringing the crowd into a partying mood. I had high hopes that the discipline would remain despite the return of partying.

In case you’re wondering, we didn’t go there to have a party, but I just wanted to observe and have some fun simultaneously. Of course, our travel arrangements were made through Tripsdiary Travel and Tours.

What we prepared for our trip:

QR codes are no longer required. To check in, you only need to present one valid ID.

The Airasia terminal is located at NAIA Domestic Terminal 2. Despite the fact that it’s not as prestigious as other airports, we were still satisfied. Those who want to work on something important while waiting for their flight can use free Wi-Fi access, charging stations, and a laptop area. There are a variety of cafes and food booths to choose from. We didn’t get bored while waiting.

Airport OOTD

We wanted to feel comfortable while still being in style. Since we’re going to the beach, I opted for comfortable clothing.

👚 Cropped White floral print button shirt (Shein) I just think this white top will highlight the blue of the ocean when I take photos or video clips. This simple and classy top is what I needed to look effortlessly chic.

🩳 Hand-painted Light floral denim shorts (from Bangkok Duty Free) It’s easy to move around in light and comfy fabric. The hand-painted flowers capture a fun and playful vibe, which also provides an energy boost.

🩴 Black minimalist faux suede flip flops (I hate removing rubber shoes for security, so flip-flops are better to wear)

Flight experience @Airasia 🛫 (Z2 213)

Taking care of everything is something I am capable of as a travel agent. This time, I chose to fly using AirAsia. Based on my experience, there have been no delayed flights so far.

I chose the Value Pack package for convenience and the fact that everything is already included.

Checked baggage 20kg (I wanna bring more outfits and stuff for OOTDs. I know that it will be more expensive if we will purchase our outfits there.)

7kg carry-on baggage (You can bring your laptop, other electronic devices, and personal stuff here).

Seat 💺 I always wanted to have a window seat for the nice view, and of course, less disruption during the flight.

Insurance I included this for our protection while traveling.

The food 🥘

To satisfy my hunger during the flight, I always order in-flight meals. AirAsia’s menu is something I love because it offers a variety of food options. Here’s what we ordered:

Me: chicken Lasagna and bottled water

Shane: chicken Inasal and bottled water

Arrival in Boracay

The Boracay Airport

It was raining when we landed in Boracay Airport. Upon retrieving our luggage, we began looking for our transfer service.

Airport Transfers

Tripsdiary Travel and Tours has a service that includes round-trip airport transfers via Southwest Tours,

Southwest Tours

We approached the Southwest representative and we were escorted to the bus. The guest will be transported from the airport or jetty port to the hotel as part of this door-to-door service. Just pay P30-50 for the porter’s service fee.

Boracay Ocean Club (Our Home for Day 1)

Our home for 3 days and 2 nights was Boracay Ocean Club. The van dropped us off on an inner road in Station 3, where we had to walk a bit until we saw the beach. We were met by a Southwest staff member who helped us carry our luggage while we were on our way to the beachfront. It was a 3-minute walk.

Arrival (check-in)

I felt a sense of excitement when we finally saw the Boracay Ocean Club signage. It’s a beachfront property, so we can enjoy the beach anytime.

The lovely front desk staff welcomed us. After verifying our identification and checking the room availability, they let us in immediately.

Our room

A staff escorted us to our ocean view room, which is on the 3rd floor. Omg! Imagine–the price of P8000 per night (as of this writing) is really a great deal! It has a floor area of 98 square meters with a king-sized bed and a seating area.

The bathroom is spacious and has a vanity area where we can store our beauty and skincare essentials. The private, spacious veranda with bath tub is what makes the suite stand out, giving you the chance to witness the breathtaking ocean and sunset views.

(A separate article will be posted for my hotel review) For the meantime, please check out my room tour video.

Afternoon Activities

We went to the nearest ATM after unpacking and resting for a while. Just inside the property, near Cafe Surf Beach, there is an ATM machine.

While we wanted to go swimming in the afternoon, we knew it wasn’t possible. Instead of that, we engaged in the following activities.

🏝️ Watched the Halloween 🎃 Party with the kids while having our welcome drinks 🍹

The program was only for guests with children, so while having our welcome drinks, we just watched them play the ‘Bring Me’ game.

🏝️ Short walk

The day wouldn’t be complete without having a walk, so we did it. From Station 3, it’s a 10-minute walk to D’mall. Seeing the calm beach view and the fine white sand on our feet is a great experience. Shane (my daughter) and I had a conversation about our daily budget while we were on our way to D’mall. I informed her that we were there to enjoy the beach and spend quality time together, without spending an excessive amount.

🏝️ Snacks 🍨

So, for snacks, we have a budget of P500 (P250 each). At the D’mall entrance (near the main road), we came across the Boracay Beach Truck. The kitchen is inside a truck and there is also a room upstairs for customers to dine in. Because we were still full, we decided against ordering rice bowl meals. Instead, we opted for Sunrise Milk Tea.

Brown Sugar Boba Black Tea with Cream Cheese (16 oz) ₱160.00

Flavored Boba Black Tea (Cheesecake) ₱130.00

Total: P292.50

We’re pleased to have saved P207.50 for our target budget. We didn’t get to watch the sunset because we were also searching for a cheap dinner while walking back to Station 3.

Dinner 🥘

We stopped by 7-11 at Station 3 and bought a bottle of water and two cup noodles for dinner.

🏝️ Bathtub Dip 🛁

Our private veranda, as previously mentioned, has a bath tub, which is ideal for guests who want to have privacy while enjoying the spectacular view. After dinner, we took a dip in the tub to relax and refresh ourselves.

OOTD

After taking a hot shower, we got ready for our evening walk. It was time to experience the nightlife in Boracay and showcase our Halloween attire! We missed to witness K-Kitchen’s foam shower, but we were able to watch the fire dance show.

We dressed up for Halloween, but we were careful not to draw too much attention, such as wearing a white lady costume or any eye-catching outfit. For the night, a simple black outfit with Halloween accessories would be appropriate. I opted for a sexy and desirable look by applying a blood red lipstick instead of going for the smoky eyeshadow look. (Sexy witch lang ang peg 😁)

Me: 👗 Black Lace Bustier Cami Bodycon Dress

Shane: Black glittery long-sleeved top and hot pink BARBIE mini skirt

Evening Walk

This activity marks the end of the day. While walking, there were people dressed in their Halloween costumes and accessories too! There were those who just wore head accessories like lighted devil horn headbands. To look different, I accessorized my hair with a creative skeleton and red flower hair clip and I also wore a pair of black skull decor tassel earrings.

It was fun! Nightlife is undoubtedly back, but in contrast to the past, visitors and locals are now more disciplined. Here’s what we have observed while walking:

  • Fire dancers and a live band are mainly performing in restaurants, not at the beachfront.
  • Souvenir stalls that sell various items are back in operation.
  • Potential customers are being urged by the restaurant staff to try their buffet dinner.
  • Locals in Boracay offer various water activities, massage services, and braiding services.

We tried to walk to Station 1, but our feet were exhausted, so we decided to stop at D’Mall and go back to Boracay Ocean Club. We slept early after a long but productive day to recharge ourselves for the next day.

As of this writing, I just recovered from a flu, which is why it took me a while to update you on our Boracay trip. I’ll be posting the other updates from Day 2 to Day 5, including my hotel review of the following hotels over the next few days.

  1. Boracay Ocean Club Beach Resort
  2. Ferra Premier Hotel

Love,

Yay, long weekend is finally here! My way of spending the long weekend is by taking a productive and relaxing workcation trip. This is the perfect opportunity to go on a well-deserved break I’ve been wanting. My initial plan was to visit Cebu and fly to Boracay, but I was unable to leave the house because my husband was serving in the barangay elections. I moved my long weekend trip to October 31st-November 4th, but I had to change my destination because the Cebu airport was closed on November 31st, 1st, and 2nd. I decided to arrange our trip to Boracay instead.

By the time this blog post is published, you have already seen my social media posts. I’ll give you an idea of what I’ll cover during my long weekend workcation/bleisure.

Why do I keep coming back to Boracay?

Let me admit it. I have been head over heels in love with Boracay ever since I set foot in our world-class paradise. What keeps me coming back? I became enchanted by the following:

⭕️ the jaw-dropping and incredibly fine, powdery, and smooth white sand

⭕️ the gorgeous clear and turquoise waters

⭕️ the stunning and breathtaking crimson sunset

⭕️ the vibrant nightlife

What to expect in this Long Weekend Trip?

Well, since it’s a bleisure trip, I came up with the following:

🏝️ MyHalloween 🎃 Celebration in Boracay

It will be my first time to spend Halloween 🎃 in Boracay, and I am kinda excited to glam up in my Halloween outfit. I’m curious if the parties have started and how do they spend it this time. Of course, we’re willing to indulge in treats. Just no tricks, please.

🏝️ Hotel ocular 🏨

I will be having a series of ocular visit for TripsDiary Travel and Tours. Our goal is to provide you with more options for your next Boracay vacation. I’ll present you with the various room types/categories and hotel amenities.

Last year, I was able to feature the ocular visit we’ve done in the following hotels 🏨:

With the Shangri-la Boracay Communications Team

Shangri-la Boracay

Movenpick Boracay

Belmont Boracay

Savoy Hotel Boracay

The District Boracay

Coast Boracay

Two Seasons Boracay Resort

Patio Pacific Boracay

The Tides Hotel Boracay

Due to the short notice, I believe we will only be able to have a few ocular visits this time.

🏝️ Hotel review 🏨

By watching my daily updates on my page and Instagram, including photos and videos, you will be able to determine if each hotel is good enough to be your next home in Boracay. In addition, I will give a comprehensive review of each hotel and share my recommendations on my blog.

The hotel names will be divulged on my daily updates, so stay tuned 😄

To give you an idea, here’s what I will include in the review:

  • The location 📍
  • The lobby and check-in experience
  • The hotel amenities
  • Our room (room tour)
  • What I liked about the hotel
  • Suggestions
  • Overall recommendations

🏝️ Food trip diaries 🍔🌭🌮🥗🥪🍕🍟🥓🍲🥤☕️

I am a very picky eater— I don’t eat seafood, beef, and pork. I’m more into chicken 🍗, pasta 🍝 pizza 🍕 desserts 🍨, tropical beverage 🥤 and coffee ☕️

This is quite challenging 😥, choosing the food to order for each meal, considering that I also have to set a daily budget for each day.

I will also feature the daily breakfast 🥞☕️ in our hotel.

🏝️ OOTD 💃

It’s time to show off my fashion style with everyone 😁. It’s actually a combination of old and new outfits, and of course, it’s a challenge for me to mix and match until I come up with a perfect style.

🏝️ Series of FB live

It’s time to reconnect with my followers, and take them with me in Boracay virtually.

🏝️ My daily activities

This long weekend trip will allow me to share my experience and help you plan your next BORACAY trip. Just try to send an email or message me on Tripsdiary’s Facebook page and I will try my best to respond despite my vacation mode. It might not be on time, please understand (because of the holiday break), but I will allot time in the evening.

I hope you are as excited as I am. Please follow my Facebook page and Instagram accounts, and make sure to subscribe here so you won’t miss an update.

Love,

A celebration steeped in love, togetherness, and cherished traditions, National Family Day is a heartwarming occasion that resonates deeply with communities across the Philippines.

In Camella, the nation’s largest homebuilder, it is a time for families within its thriving communities to unite, fortify bonds, and forge unforgettable memories.

Camella recently marked its National Family Day with a series of engaging activities devoted to family fun and bonding. Held throughout the month of September, the event featured both on-site and digital activities, all geared towards nurturing family relationships and promoting the harmony of family life.

Capturing Unbreakable Bonds through Digital Art

The artistic highlight of Camella National Family Day was a digital art competition, fittingly named “A Canvas of Unbreakable Bonds.” The competition revolved around the theme “The Heart of Our Home: Embracing Family Harmony,” inviting participants to craft original digital art that embodied the essence of family in every Filipino’s life. The winning art piece and its artist, John Bryan Estipona, was awarded a brand-new tablet. “A Canvas of Unbreakable Bonds,” which ran from September 11th to 30th, 2023, attracted entries from all corners of the country.

A Week of Familial Bonding: Camella National Family Day On-Site Activities

For families who preferred face to face bonding, the on-site activities held in Camella communities nationwide offered an equally exhilarating experience. The Family Sports Day emerged as a crowd favorite, featuring a day of spirited activities that drew families closer and facilitated connections with fellow community members. The day brimmed with friendly competitions like basketball and traditional Filipino games such as tug-of-war, relay races, and obstacle courses—tasks that encouraged teamwork and collaboration.

Camella Tarlac and Camella Tapas unleashed exciting artistry through face painting

The Family Talent Show was another on-site gem, allowing families to flaunt their unique skills and abilities. Music, dance, singing, and magic acts graced the event as families gamely performed in front of live audiences.

At the Camella Family Fair, visitors reveled in a world of mini-game booths, testing their luck and skills. It was a delightful opportunity for families to bond while indulging in various games.

Each event culminated with flair through an array of activities. Pet parks, food stalls, photo booths, and live bands took center stage, providing entertainment for communities. Families shared precious moments, took countless photographs, and grooved to live music. In addition to the festivities, a scavenger hunt, Zumba sessions, and an art corner kept everyone engaged.

Camella’s Commitment to Family and Community

Camella’s National Family Day celebration transcended all expectations, drawing families together. Children laughed and played, parents relaxed and connected with one another, and grandparents shared stories and wisdom with their loved ones. It was a beautiful reminder to honor the core values of family and community in our lives.

It matters to check and ask yourself once in a while–“Am I okay?” We can admit to the sad reality that we are NOT okay. Eh, ano kung hindi ka okay, di ba? We CAN do something about it. Because today (October 10, 2023) is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY, I dedicate this article to all the people who are suffering from depression and experiencing anxiety attacks. Usapang Mental Health (Mental Health Talks) muna tayo because your mental health matters! We can think of ways how to overcome our problems and how to deal with it. We can start by creating awareness about the importance of mental health.

The Importance of Mental Health Awareness

It will be easier for people to help other people if they understand how they feel when they experience depression, anxiety, and stress.

How can you Manage your Mental Health?

Self-evaluation

Sometimes, when we are alone, we reflect. Minsan nga kinakausap natin ang sarili natin. Well, it’s fine. Actually, talking to yourself can help in a way– to assess and evaluate yourself. There are also times when you have no one to talk to, and you feel uncomfortable talking to yourself, keeping a journal works for some people. Yung di nila mailabas or ma-ishare, they will write it down.

Talk to your friends

This is really a big help because talking to someone will lighten up your mood and it’s a different feeling if you feel that you are loved. When somebody cares, nawawala ang mga masasamang bagay na naiisip mong gawin because it gives you HOPE and inspiration para lumaban. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam, yung may mahingahan ka lang ng sama ng loob, it really means a lot.

If your friends are not physically there for you, you can take advantage of the technology. May videocall and messenger naman– or a simple text message or chat can be enough to let your friend know that you are there for him/her and that you care.

Keep yourself busy

You need to keep yourself busy to forget. Instead of thinking about other things, like drinking liquor or getting into drugs, think of activities that would not only entertain you, but will help you think positively.

Appreciate yourself

Think about your strengths and appreciate yourself. When you finally thought of your worth as a person, you will have a different perspective in life and inspire other people.

Love yourself and have your “Me Time”

It’s true that it’s okay to breathe and pause if we feel exhausted. Lahat naman ng bagay, kailangan ng pahinga, tayo pa kaya? A quick break or pamper yourself by having a relaxing massage is just what you need to feel better.

I hope this article helped you in a way. If you know somebody who is suffering from depression and experiencing stress, you can help by sending that person encouraging messages or bond with them. You can also spread awareness on the importance of mental health by creating and sharing a post about World Mental Health Day.

Thank you so much for dropping by. You can also support me by following my FB page and be our sponsor for our upcoming online Christmas activity. For collaboration and sponsorship, you can send a message to jasmine@thebloggerprincess.press.

Love,

Water security is a very simple concept – it’s making sure we and generations to come have enough clean water to last a lifetime.

Reusing water for cleaning or gardening and turning off the faucet when not in use are great, active ways to reduce water usage at home. Another solution? Turn your home into a more water-efficient one!

Sounds complicated? Not really! In fact, it’s so easy to do, you can do it yourself with the help of SM and ACE Hardware! Check out this rundown of the best tools and devices you need to make sure your house is a water-saving one:

1. Hose Nozzles

Are you a plantita or plantito using a garden hose to water your greens?Consider adding a shut-off valve at the nozzle end to give you more precision and minimize water wasted when moving across sections of your garden.

Use any of the nine adjustable spray patterns of this ACE hose nozzle based on your needs.

2. Shower Aerators

If you still prefer a shower over the trusty tabo, install a water-saving shower head with aerators. These mix air with water, which means 50% less water used without compromising your shower experience.

Choose from air-intake shower heads from Rosco, Eco-Sense and Easy Flow at an ACE Hardware near you.

3. Leak Repair Supplies

Even the smallest of leaks can waste a significant amount of water over time. Regularly inspect your plumbing system and keep basic tools like a strong, rubberized and waterproof leak tape that can help you tackle minor leaks asap!

Patch, bond, seal and repair with a waterproof tape like Flex Tape and other sealants.

4. Toilet Repair Kit

Toilets are notorious for raising your water bill when they develop leaks that go unnoticed. A simple and cost-effective solution is to install a toilet repair kit. These prevent the endless refilling of a leaky tank, and can even “lock” itself to alert you that something needs fixing.

Repair kits like the Fluidmaster Toilet Tank Repair Valve helps prevent endless refilling of leaky tanks.

5. Rainwater-harvesting Drum

Building your own rainwater catchment system is not as difficult as you think! All you need is a large water drum with a secure lid and a fine mesh or screen for filtering, which can easily be found at your nearest ACE Hardware store. Connect it to your gutter system with downspouts and voila! An eco-friendly solution to collect and store rainwater for outdoor tasks like watering your garden and washing your car.

You can transform this 32-Gallon Trash Can into a DIY rainwater harvesting system.

Water efficiency has always been at the forefront of SM group’s advocacies under the SM Green Movement. Aside from fulfilling customers’ needs for a more water-efficient home, SM properties havebeen recycling water since the 1990s resulting to an average of 4 million cubic meters of water saved annually. SM Supermalls conducts regular maintenance of its fixtures and encourages customers to do the same in their homes to minimize water consumption.

“Water conservation is a helpful way to ensure the entire country is water-secure and has an adequate water supply,” said Engr. Liza B. Silerio, SM Cares Program Director for the Environment and SM Supermalls Vice President for Corporate Compliance. “We highly encourage everyone to #SaveWaterWithSM and implement these small changes, because even the smallest habit can have the biggest impact in making water resources available to future generations.”

Filipinas experience extreme humidity whether indoors at home or outdoors especially during the rainy season. There are health risks that everyone might encounter like dehydration, fatigue, muscle cramps, heat exhaustion, fainting, and heat stroke.

Changes that make most women uncomfortable with humidity:

  • Hair becomes more frizzy;
  • Skin is prone to breakouts, and generally feels more itchy and sticky throughout the day;
  • Unpleasant feeling within their intimate areas (This is what most women don’t share)

Tips from Carefree ambassador Rei Germar that can help beat the kulob and icky feels throughout the day this rainy season:

1. Always have rainy-day essentials ready.

This includes having foldable umbrellas, raincoats, and even small towels to keep yourself dry from the rain.

2. Use Carefree pantyliners to keep your intimate areas clean and fresh all day.

Make sure to use some Carefree pantyliners throughout the day! Keep a couple of pieces in your essentials pouch so you can keep changing throughout the day in between activities.

There are different variants for different needs:

Carefree Breathable for the clean, airy panty feeling all day,

Carefree Super Dry to protect your panty from heavy daily discharge,

Carefree Healthy Fresh for superior odor-control.

3. Touch up your look with makeup and some perfume

A quick touch up on your look is such a mood booster! Knowing that you look my best throughout the day also helps combat the icky feeling you get, especially when the weather is gloomy.

Dr. May Gonzaga, gynecologist, also shares a few tips that can help Filipinas keep their intimate area clean and fresh during this time of the year. Dr. Gonzaga notes “Humid season are the times we should pay more attention to our personal hygiene and intimate areas

  • It makes women more prone to infections. As anything that increases the retention of heat, sweat, and wetness can lead to intimate discomforts and more importantly
  • it can make the abnormal bacteria flourish and thrive which can lead to vulvar, vaginal, and urinary tract infections, peculiar foul smelling, and abnormal unwanted discharges from the intimate area.

To avoid and minimize the building-up of the bad bacteria in the intimate area and thereby prevent possible infections & the discomfort that goes with it,

Recommended Healthy Lifestyle by Dr. Gonzaga:

1. Practicing a habit of good feminine “hygiene”

  • Wash and wipe always from front to back!
  • Use water and mild soaps only.
  •  Wash the intimate area once to two times a day is adequate. Once you over-wash, you will wash away the good, healthy bacteria. And when this happens the ‘bad’ bacteria may colonize and give symptoms of unpleasant odors, discharge, and infections.

2. Wear breathable clothes

  • Using cotton, comfortable underwear instead of those synthetic fiber panties which can lead to irritation, itchiness, inflammation, and even infections.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothes like tight undergarments, tight skinny jeans or tight pants, tight leggings which does not allow air to pass in your intimate area. Because our intimate area also needs to breathe. By allowing fresh air to pass through the area, it minimizes perspiration and gives one more comfort and is less prone to irritation and infections.

3. Use natural ang hypoallergenic pantyliners

By using a natural, thin, light, unscented, comfortable, cotton, hypoallergenic pantyliners to keep the vulvar area clean and dry the whole day.

Changing every 3 to 5 hours a day depending on the day of cycle is recommended. This is to prevent vaginal irritations, itching, inflammation, infections and unpleasant odors and discharges from occurring.

Alex Burgos, brand manager, shares “As the leading pantyliner brand, Carefree believes that Filipinas should not be bothered and not be accustomed to the icky sensation within the vaginal area. We advocate for women to not only just be clean, but be Carefree clean.”

To know more about the #CarefreePantyLove Movement visit and follow our social media accounts at  https://www.facebook.com/CarefreePH/ and @carefee.ph on Instagram and TikTok. Carefree pantyliners are available in all leading supermarket and drugstore nationwide, as well as on our official company store in Shopee and Lazada

Fashion is a form of creative expression that reveals a person’s identity and style. As a lifestyle and travel blogger and micro-influencer, I also love to show off my OOTDs in my press trips. I was delighted to be invited in the Thailand 🇹🇭 Fashion Week (Autumn and Winter Collection 2023-2024 ) , held in June 30,, 2023 at the Varavela Garden to cover the said event. In this post, let me share the highlights of the fashion show and some thoughts about the entire collection.

It was my first time covering this event, and I was excited to meet the fashion designers, models, and staff, the most of whom were Filipinos.

THE TFW HIGHLIGHTS

Let’s take a peek in the Thailand Fashion Week AW 23-24 main event where top fashion designers showcased the season’s must-haves. With these collections, you can elevate your wardrobe with the latest autumn and winter fashion trends.

SET 1

DON CRISTOBAL 🇵🇭

I have witnessed how Don Cristobal, the opening designer for the show, stunned the audience with his “LAKBAY” collection.

“LAKBAY” pays homage to the Philippine tapestry, weavers, and artisans, as it celebrates the artistic Filipino designs, showcasing the beauty of the Philippine local fabrics like “Binakol,” “ Yakan, “ “Tinalak,” and “ Inabel.”

As the word “LAKBAY(travel) describes, Don Cristobal’s brilliance is evident in his collection, as he has succeeded in introducing Filipino culture to the world.

KAYLIN 🇭🇰

Kaylin’s comfy collection (Hong Kong ) features the classic black designs that never goes outdated. Her collection fits every style and can be ideal for every occasion: business/office, fancy dinner, street, or special events. These simple outfits can also make you look glamorous, and it’s easy to accessorize. Just experiment on accessories and other embellishments to add your personal touch.

ELSIE DELOS REYES 🇵🇭

Another Filipino designer who stood out and dazzled the audience with her glittering black and gold designs is no other than Elsie delos Reyes. She played with shimmering and shining outfits, which creates glamour, and there’s no way you can take your eyes off her collection as the models walked down the runway. Her fabulous outfits are perfect for parties and special events.

.

LANDER ACCESSORIES 🇹🇭

Lander Accessories features different jewelry collection to compliment the autumn and winter outfits.

MIKAY KIKAY COLLECTION 🇵🇭

Who says autumn and winter outfits are super boring? Cool and trendy styles by Judy Fantillanan is another Pinoy pride. Based from the word “kikay.” her collection features cute, stylish, girly outfits for all ages. The ruffled dress and black leather outfits are indeed show-stoppers! Definitely, her cute and chic outfits will keep you warm and look stylish during the cool months.

LIGAYA COUTURE 🇵🇭

The audience was captivated by the models’ catwalk bounce complimented with the Filipino designer’s creativity as she played with the feminine florals and a splash of colors. For special events, wearing these outfits will make you stand out.

SHEIRA NANGGOLAN 🇮🇩

Flashy fashion styles inspired from Batik fabric, made up of vibrant colors from the collection from 16 year-old fashion designer from Indonesia 🇮🇩 Her eye-catching designs have a cheerful and youthful vibe. (The Barbie Pink dress is a personal favorite 😁)

BLACK

Comfy and casual designs from Black can also be trendy. He displayed his unique selection of blue outfits.

ROBERTH ASAPH GALLARDO III 🇵🇭

Save the best for last–probably that’s the reason why Roberth Gallardo was assigned to be the show’s finale. He definitely made a memorable and impressive show. Yes, it’s RED for power and boldness! Models walked in red dresses with matching head pieces and salakot for Pinoy accent. They made such a strong impact–strong, regal, and sexy.

SET 2

BODY ART By Fernie Warisa 🇹🇭

For the second set of the event, the kids and teen-agers were requested to go inside the room because the show is only for adults.

Using your own body as a canvas is another way for others to create art and it was incredibly amazing. BODYART by Fernie is a creative brand that presents a unique form of body arts.

To sum it up, the Thailand Fashion Week AW 2023-2024 was indeed successful in showcasing world-class brands and talents.

MY TOP PICKS

If I have the opportunity to choose a designer to dress me up for Autumn and Winter, I’d pick these designers. For the readers to fully understand why I chose them, I have listed the reasons below 👇

  • First of all, this is an autumn 🍂 and winter ❄️ collection, so we have to consider wearing something to keep you warm and comfortable (jackets, coats, vests, etc.) As it gets colder, it means saying goodbye to revealing and less skin showing outfits. So, it would be something comfy, classy, and preferably with a Pinoy touch.
  • Since I am not a party animal, and I’m more on the casual side, it has to be something that I can wear in the streets, and other public places.
  • I also love to mix and match, so this has to be something I can reuse for future events and travels.
  • If it’s something for party or special occasion, the outfit design has to reflect my personal style and taste.

1. DON CRISTOBAL

I really loved the “LAKBAY” collection, which features traditional Filipino elements , and incorporates both local weaved and conventional fabrics. This is something I can be proud of wearing when I am abroad–it’s showing to everyone that you are wearing a world-class brand without really bragging about it.

2. KAYLIN

I love the simplicity and elegance in her designs. I could easily shift from casual to business styles from her collection.

3. ROBERT ASAPH GALLARDO III

For special events, I would really love to wear one of Robert Gallardo’s red outfits. I believe that with his collection, I would be able to flaunt my hourglass shape by showing off my curves.

4.MIKAY KIKAY

It’s pretty obvious! I’m a certified “kikay” so I could wear her outfits confidently– this is sooooo me!. I love the designs–feminine and very classy 😁

TIPS IN CHOOSING YOUR AUTUMN AND WINTER OUTFITS

Choosing an outfit will still depend on your lifestyle and fashion preferences. Consider the following:

  • Have fun in mixing and matching outfits in your closet and add something from the TFW AW 23-24 collection.
  • Invest on accessories and footwears. It can add drama to a simple outfit. Play with your creativity.
  • Always go for cozy, but stylish and cute outfits. Don’t wear something that can get the crowd’s attention just because it is eccentric, if you will become a certified laughingstock.
  • Be practical. Purchase something that you can use again, and not just for one-time use, as we don’t just pick up money.
  • Make sure to pick something that matches your taste and personality; otherwise, you won’t be able to pull off with the outfit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog post. Sorry for posting late– I was busy with Tripsdiary Travel and Tours, but I am back!!!!

Feel free to contact me for collaborations.

Love,

My first solo adventure removed all my fears. In my previous post, I explained why I made that decision. Yes, it was also my first solo press trip for the Thailand Fashion Week Autumn & Winter Collection 2023-2024. My first day was a total disaster, but I made sure that I would be able to recover the following day.

A Brand New Day 🌤️

I began the new day with optimism and a fresh start. By getting enough rest and sleep, I was able to regain my strength for the long day.

Productive morning

I had a productive morning because I felt energized and had to check out at 9am. The following is something I couldn’t believe I had accomplished.

Had the leftover pizza 🍕 and coffee ☕️ in the living area

The first thing I thought of when I woke up was breakfast. I needed energy to stay focused throughout the day. I originally planned to have a buffet breakfast on the 81st floor at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, while admiring the panoramic and dramatic view of the city. Having to check out at 9 am, I made the decision to eat the leftover pizza and have a cup of coffee in my suite. (I also need to be practical–sayang ang food di ba?)

Gusto ko sanang mag buffet breakfast with a breathtaking view, but it will consume a lot of time, that’s why I decided to stay in the room. Besides, may leftover pizza 🍕 pa!

• Take photos and short video clips

Because of what happened, I had to do what I failed to do the previous day. I took some photos and video clips for my Bangkok content.

Pack the clothes and prepare my luggage

I opted not to unpack when I arrived and use the closet because I knew I had to pack my things early. I just sorted in a separate bag what I needed to bring with me in the TFW rehearsals.

Soaked myself in the bathtub 🛁

I was hoping to take a morning swim, but it was not possible, so I decided to soak in the bathtub and enjoy the warm bath.

My OOTD

I also had to pick an outfit for the TFW rehearsals — simple, but classy, and not too flashy. I was informed that the theme was black, so I brought black tops and ta-da! I chose a black top with floral sleeves and jeans 👖

My TFW rehearsals OOTD

I was ready to check out at 9am!

The driver came to pick me up and dropped me off at Nappiness Hotel (my home for 3 days and 2 nights in Bangkok). The check-in was effortless and I just left my luggage with Som and asked her to place it in my room.

As much as I’d like to take a peek in my room, I couldn’t because I had to leave so I could make it to the TFW rehearsals at 11am.

The Thailand Fashion Week AW 23-24 Rehearsals

I had no idea what was in store for me on my first solo press trip. I just knew that I have to do my task with all my heart ❤️ So, I went to the Varavela Garden to watch the rehearsals.

Probably you are wondering why I flew all the way to Thailand and covered the Thailand Fashion Week. I am not a fashion blogger. I’m more into the lifestyle and travel, but fashion is one of my interests. Glamming up is a way for me to express myself and I love it. I wanted to get a taste of what it’s like to cover a fashion event.

I have observed how everyone worked professionally. They got the clothes ready for fitting, and rehearsed according to the fashion show sequence.

I was taken aback to learn that Filipino fashion designers, models, and volunteers were present at the event. I seized the opportunity to have a brief interview with them.

Short Interviews 🎤📸

Don Cristobal

It was an absolute pleasure to meet the event’s opening designer, Don Cristóbal. I am truly thankful that he took the time to discuss his ‘Lakbay” collection, which features traditional Filipino elements, incorporates both local weaved and conventional fabrics.

I visualized which styles can be created from Filipino fabrics and a little excitement was there to discover how creative Don Cristobal is. I was thinking that if he’s the show’s opener, he must be exceptionally talented.

Princess Lising

Moreover, I had the chance to meet Princess, one of the promising models from Robert Gallardo’s team. You can watch her video here.

Robert Asaph Gallardo

I was fortunate enough to have a brief conversation with Robert Gallardo, who discussed his Avant Garde Collection (red dresses with matching headpieces and salakot). The first set’s finale was his collection.

I didn’t finish rehearsals because I wanted my beauty rest in order to save for the main event the next day.

My Canal In Love room @ Nappiness Hotel Bangkok

We stopped by Mc Donald’s drive-thru on our way to the hotel and ordered my late lunch/dinner. The spacious room was a great place to enjoy my privacy, and I love it!

You can check my separate post about my stay in Nappiness Hotel here.

Learnings for the Day

My realization? I was truly impressed with myself. I still couldn’t believe that I have managed to go on a solo press trip. Although it can be scary at first, it’s achievable if you have faith in yourself.

Love,

Traveling is an experience that creates lasting memories. Every trip is filled with joy because I get to explore new places and learn about other cultures. Although I’ve heard many horror stories about solo travelers, I took the risk on my recent international trip to Bangkok. Allow me to share in this post on my experience as a first solo traveler in Thailand.

Why did I travel solo?

I made a bold decision, but why? Here are the reasons:

  1. It was an opportunity that I couldn’t miss– to cover the Thailand Fashion Week Autumn and Winter Collection for 2023-2024. This is the first time I’ve covered a fashion event and I was curious to find out what to discover about the different fashion trends. This was something to be proud of, as most of the participants were Filipino fashion designers.
  2. It was a chance for me to step outside my comfort zone. I had a burning desire to uncover more about myself. (What else am I capable of?)
  3. It was a quick break from the real world or should I say a few days of “me time?”
  4. It was more on the thrill and excitement.

Kwentong Immigration (My Immigration Experience)

Well, despite of the reasons’s I’ve mentioned above, I couldn’t deny the fact that a part of me was feeling nervous😬 I made an effort to condition myself as there was no way to quit. Working as a travel agency manager enabled me to have sufficient knowledge of the requirements. Although Thailand is visa-free for Filipinos, immigration officers may ask the passenger to present additional requirements if they appear suspicious. If the IOs believe that their purpose is to work and not to have a tour, they may be offloaded. This is done on a case-by-case basis and depends on which IO is assigned to the passenger. It his or her discretion whether you can pass the immigration or not.

When it was my turn to face the immigration officer, here’s what transpired. I was too confident because I knew the purpose of my trip, so I couldn’t imagine being offloaded. No way! I prepped myself just in case. I tried not to get nervous, and I responded in a flippant manner.

IO: (Checked my passport and air tickets then asked me to face the camera📸)

I expected him to inquire about my hotel and activity booking, but he instead asked me where I work. That’s it 😄 I couldn’t believe that was effortless! I thought to myself, “Yey! Salamat naman at ang bilis!”

I already lined up and prepared to put my bag and gadgets on the tray, when another agent asked me to go to the side. My heart was pounding (I thought we’re done with this, 😂, what the hell is happening?

Officer: Sino po ang kasama nyo?

Me: Ako lang po.

Officer: (Looked at my passport) Pupunta ka pala ng Thailand pero galing ka na doon.

Me: Yes po last September with -other travel agency owners.

Officer: Galing ka rin pala sa Vietnam.

Me: Last December po.

Officer: ikaw nagbook ng ticket mo?

Me: Yes po, sa travel agency ko Tripsdiary Travel and Tours

Officer: May imimeet ka ngayon sa Thailand?

Me: Wala po. Mag attend lang ng Thailand Fashion Week.

Officer: May invitation ka? (Balak pa yata akong ioffload)

Me: (I showed him the email and my media pass)

End of the story.

That’s the sad reality. Immigration officers tend to be strict when you are a solo traveler. I couldn’t blame them–ang dami kasing pasaway ngayon. If in case that you really need to travel alone, you just need to be prepared and confident in answering their questions 😅; otherwise, you might get offloaded.

I was able to breathe normally after passing through the immigration process. Finally, I will be able to explore on my own and I was truly looking forward to a productive day.

Cebu Pacific’s Delayed Flight

I was at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 at 3:47 am. My Cebu Pacific flight was scheduled for 7:35 am, and the boarding time was supposed to be 6:50 am.

At 7:24 am, we were asked to wait for the final boarding announcement. We were disappointed to learn that the plane’s estimated arrival time in Manila was 1pm after a few minutes. They gave us 2 free meal vouchers to compensate for everything 😂😂😂 (Pampalubag-loob)

Well, it’s better than nothing–what else can we do? As if we had a choice. Nobody even apologized to us and explained what happened. We had to ask and wait for an announcement. Honestly, I was really disappointed–sayang ang ginawa kong itinerary for my early BKK flight 😒🤬 The plane should be able to land in Bangkok at 9:55am and approximately, I should be at the hotel before lunch. Grabe itong Cebu Pacific na ito—consistent na yata for delayed flights! Nakakainis!

At 12:29 pm, we started to get ready for boarding, but we still waited for a few minutes.

At 1:52 pm, we were still inside the plane, waiting for the completion of the documents before flying. The passengers were really upset 😭, including me, but we had no choice. At 2:26 pm, we were finally ready to take off.

Grabe ang pagod ko!!!

I had my pre-ordered in-flight meal, which was supposed to be my breakfast, but it ended up being a merienda. To keep myself energized for the tiring day, I had to order coffee.

I wasn’t aware of the Cebu Pacific policy on delayed flights, until a former college classmate sent the image below in one of my FB posts. Cebu Pacific did not send us any travel voucher nor offered for us to transfer to another carrier. 😥😞

So, yes, my precious time was wasted. I imagined myself resting and spending my time in the hotel room because I was really exhausted.

Thailand is Lovelier The Second Time Around

Despite what happened, I had to come up with a way to make the most of the remaining hours of the day. How the hell can I make it productive? Was it even possible? Should I just rest? My mind was shaking, and I was glad to be able to think properly.

At the Suvarnabhumi Airport

The plane landed at the airport at 17:50 pm. I claimed my luggage and got through the immigration. I went to the ATM to withdraw money in Thai Baht to make it easier for me to transact anywhere.

At 18:53, I saw the representative who is going to drive me from the airport to the hotel.

On my way to the hotel, I was also having problems with my mobile data. I was debating with myself mentally whether to just stay at the hotel or go out. My mind was saying I should go, but my body was too weak 😭😭😭

Stay at Baiyoke Sky Hotel 🏨

I booked an overnight stay at Baiyoke Sky Hotel for my first night because it is close to the market.

Thanks to the hotel staff who escorted me from the hotel entrance to the lobby. After I checked in, he also accompanied me to my room. Sorry, I forgot your name, but meeting you was one good thing that ever happened to me after the devasting experience with Cebu Pacific.

Let us have a quick room tour (Junior Suite-Lady @ Sky Zone)

I arrived at night that’s why it was like a haunted room that I see in horror movies 😨 I was waiting for a ghost to appear 👻, buti na lang walaaaaa! Haaay, I think I have gone crazy–kung anu-ano na ang naiisip ko.

At least from here, I can see the stunning view of Bangkok’s mega city skyline. (Medyo nawala ang stress ko!)

Here, I wanna show you the living area, perfect if you will have your snacks while watching TV 📺

Mirror Selfies

Of course, here’s my mirror 🪞 selfie 😄kahit pagod

Although the hotel room was somewhat old, it was spacious. As always, there was a mandatory mirror selfie. (Sayang naman ang OOTD in hot pink ko di ba?)

Bathroom check

If there’s one thing that I like about my Junior Suite room, that’s the spacious bathroom with a bathtub, vanity area, and a separate shower area.

I chose not to use the closet because it would be time-consuming when I get ready to check out the following day.

I have a part of me that would like to stay in the room and rest and sleep early. It was a long and exhausting day, and if I just want to think of what I deserve to have that time, I would have done that. I had initially planned what I would do if Cebu Pacific’s flight was not delayed. It could have been a productive day as I would have gone for a swim in the pool, have an authentic Thai massage at the spa, shopped in the market, and dined with a breathtaking view.

In the end, I made the decision to go out and make the most of the time.. I felt refreshed for a moment after taking the hot shower.

I had dinner at Baiyoke Coffee Shop at 9:11 pm because I felt hungry at that time.

Hawaiian pizza + lemon smoothie + amazing view = good mood 😁

After that, I went to the market (just in front of the hotel) to shop for souvenirs. The shirts were inexpensive, but good quality. Next time, I will buy more.

I didn’t get the chance to experience and vlog about the Thai streetfood due to limited time, but next time, I will.

After buying some stuff, I went back to the hotel.

Before I finally go to bed and have my beauty rest, I headed to the rooftop bar and paid 300 Baht for the punch. I thought it was free for guests 😅- but at least I have checked the place.

Though I wasn’t able to enjoy my first day in Bangkok as I have planned, I still managed to do some activities despite the fact that I was dead tired during that time. Below is my Bangkok Day 1 mini-vlog 👇You can also follow my FB page and post a comment too!

Love,

When you travel, you explore and discover a lot of opportunities, and this is exactly what I experienced when I found happiness in Bangkok at the Nappiness Hotel last month 😁😍❤️. Well, despite of my terrible experience in the immigration and the flight schedule on the first day of my solo travel, I still managed to have a memorable travel in Bangkok.

Why Nappiness Hotel?

Nappiness Hotel <unk> was my home in Bangkok for 3 days and 2 nights while I was covering the Thailand Fashion Week. Meanwhile, I was hoping to do something unusual, so enough for stunning city views for a while; instead, I wanted to unwind in a comfortable room with a canal view.

The Location 📍

Nappiness Hotel is situated on Phra Sumen Road, right next to the Banglumphu Canal in old town, Bangkok.

Nappiness Hotel neside Banglumphu Canal

iIts prime location, which is walking distance from Khao Road, provides easy access to the following:

☕️ Cafes

🏬 Book shop

🏪 Convenience store

🏟️ Other tourist attractions

Please refer to the map below ⬇️

Transportation 🚗 to Nappiness Hotel 🏨

Because I have my own travel agency (Tripsdiary Travel and Tours), I took care of my own transfers for my Bangkok trip (roundtrip airport, inter-hotel transfer, and hotel to the event venue)

One of the drivers (Dom), informed me that Nappiness Hotel has a very good location because it’s in the central to everything,

My First Impression

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much— I just wanted to try the Canal in Love room, but I never thought I would really have a wonderful time and enjoy my privacy during my stay.

The facade

The facade of Nappiness Hotel

It’s just a simple boutique hotel 🏨, painted in white, but I couldn’t contain the excitement as I enter. I wondered if the lobby is as simple and plain as the exterior.

The lobby

As it was a small hotel, I wasn’t expecting a spacious and magnificent lobby, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a reception area and a lounge for visitors and guests. It wasn’t cheap-looking after all. The interior was contemporary and new.

There is a freight lift (for luggage), but you need to take the stairs to go to your room.

The Check-in Process

I was in a hurry when I arrived because I need to go to Varavela Garden for the Thailand Fashion Week rehearsals. Luckily, the front desk staff at the time was Som, who was very accommodating. Upon checking in, I received a note <unk> from Nappiness after quick verification. I also received vouchers from Café Valledome, the on-site restaurant.

My room (Canal in Love)

I got to check my Canal In Love room after the TFW rehearsals and I loved it!😍😍😍

I felt relaxed and comfortable because it has everything I need for my stay and it is spacious (35 sq m).

The Hotel Amenities

Lounge

It has a lounge or waiting area where visitors and guests can hang out.

Cafe Valledome

Cafe Valledome is located on the ground floor. They serve all-day breakfast🍳 , cakes 🍰 and gelato, and of course coffee ☕

Function Room

The function room (112 sq. m) is located on the first floor. It can be utilized to host business events and other important occasions (50 pax classroom, 75 pax theatre and 100 pax cocktail)

Other room categories

  • Smile Box Twin ( 17 sq m, 2 single beds, max of 2 guests)
  • Smile Box King (17 sq m, 1 King bed, max of 2 gueests)
  • Giggle Bench (22 sq m, 2 single beds, bench, max of 2 guests)
  • Fun Family (33 sq m, 4 single beds, max of 4 guests)
  • Canal In Love (35 sq m, 1 king bed, long bench, balcony, canal view, max of 3 guests)

Below are photos of the Giggle Bench Room (taken during the ocular I had a day before my departure back to Manila) I wasn’t able to check the other room categories because those were occupied at that time.

Room Tour

I am delighted to show you around. I bet that you were also amazed at the contemporary and neat design. I think the white walls have contributed to this (the illusion to make the room more spacious, plus it made me feel focused). My personal space here after the press trip has been enjoyable, as I had the opportunity to rest and work during my free time. A moment of unrestrained time, with no distractions, is all that’s needed to focus on something. I’m happy that I was able to do that at Nappiness Hotel.

Below is the video of my Bangkok Day 2 trip which includes the quick room tour of Canal In Love 👎

What I liked about Nappiness Hotel 🏨

🔘 Cleanliness

I had no problem at all in maintaining the cleanliness of the room because the housekeeping staff cleans the room daily. There was no need for me to call and remind them.

🔘 Freebies (coffee, toiletries, other kits)

There is a complimentary tea 🍵 and coffee sachet daily, with 2 bottles of water, and welcome goodies like chips and cookies.

🔘 Veranda and view

During my press trip, I had the opportunity to destress as I enjoyed the “feels” of Italy every time I gaze at the window or go to my veranda.

You can spend some time if you want you breathe some fresh air and unwind. It’s also a perfect spot for coffee time ☕️

Spacious bathroom

I loved the spacious bathroom, especially the shower area. It was very relaxing to have a hot shower bath.

WIFI connection

Though I have subscribed to Globe roaming, the WIFI in the hotel has helped me a lot. I brought my iPad where I watch Netflix K-dramas and do business tasks at the same time.

Front desk staff/concierge

Thank you, Som 🥰❤️

During my stay, Som was really helpful to me, and I think she deserves to be acknowledged for it. She has remembered all my instructions when I checked in. She also accompanied me to the bridge where I took snapshots of the hotel right next to the Banglumphu Canal.

The other receptionists were also helpful (I just don’t remember their names)

They were approachable and even though I was not able to reserve a room service massage, I am always grateful because they did their best.

Food 🥘

I had breakfast at Cafe Valledome, where I got 20 % discount for for the all-day breakfast, sweet and gelato, and free coffee ☕️

In my first day, I had enjoyed the scrambled eggs and the cappuccino. I just needed this intense coffee flavor to help me be energized through the busy day.

On my last day at Nappiness Hotel, I got to enjoy the sour and tangy taste of the creamy cheesecake. This is perfect to be paired with the iced latte (just to match my mood for that day) I

Clean toilet 🚽 in the ground floor

There is a clean toilet for visitors and guests on the ground floor. I was impressed the first time I used it before I leave for the press trip after I checked in. It was properly maintained, and spotless.

Comfortability & Sleep quality 🛌 😴💤

I really felt comfortable, with the soft queen bed covered with clean beddings (This is why I was able to relax). The aircon was also working and the temperature can be controlled.

Free water at the lobby

There is free water in the lobby for guests, but I wasn’t able to refill my bottle. Since I’m alone the 2 bottles per day is enough for me to consume.

Suggestions

💡 Put a mirror 🪞 near the door or closet. The guests would like to see their full-body look, especially the women 😁

💡 Consider having a lift not just for the luggage, but for the guests as well.

💡 Placing air freshners for each room will help to destroy any unpleasant smell.

💡 Please include a spa service for exhausted guests who don’t want to go out.

Is this worth your money?

It’s definitely a great value for your money. I’m sure you’ll love Nappiness Hotel too!

Overall Impression & Recommendations

I highly recommend Nappiness Hotel if you want to have a memorable experience while you are in Bangkok. Next time I visit I will make sure to have a longer stay in Thailand with my family, and I will let them experience happiness in this hotel 😁

Balik eskwela ready na ba kayo? Oooops, I know that reaction 😂🤣 I know, that SY 2022-2023 just ended in some schools, but whether you like it or not, another school year is about to start! (Hwaaaaaat?! Is this for real–as in totoo baaaaaah?!) if you’re occupied with work or you’re planning your vacation, there’s a way to accomplish this on the side. You don’t have to worry because it’s easy to be “BALIK-ESKWELA READY” with PSA Helpline.Ph!

What are the requirements for enrollment?

Busy parents have to prepare these requirements to ensure that the kids will be enrolled this coming school year.

  1. 🏫 SF 9 (latest report card)
  2. 🏫 certificate of good moral character
  3. 🏫 SF 10 (form 137)
  4. 🏫 copy of birth certificate from PSA

Numbers 1-3 can be requested from the previous school, and the copy of a birth certificate can be requested and ordered online via PSA Helpline.PH, which is very convenient because it will be delivered right into your home.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO SUBMIT A PSA BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

Probably you are wondering why it is important for an individual to submit a birth certificate when enrolling in a school? It’s because class advisers have to update their Learner Information System (LIS) and examine the learners’ personal information. Here are the reasons why the school is requesting for a copy of the PSA birth certificate:

🔘 It is a valid proof of one’s identity, and nationality.

🔘 It confirms the student’s age and the right grade level.

The Ordering Process

Last year, I shared my own experience in ordering PSA birth certificates online. It’s very easy— as easy as 1-2-3 and A-B-C 😁 Just follow the instructions and after you have filled out the important details about yourself and your child, you will be prompted to the payment page. A copy of the PSA birth certificate can be requested for only P365.00 (inclusive of delivery), which is very convenient.

PSA Birth Certificates Delivery

Once you have placed an order for the PSA birth certificates, you will receive a notification via email and sms about the status of your order. The courier will contact you as well for the delivery schedule.

I wasn’t there when the first delivery attempt was made. I forgot that I had to attend a training. We have set another schedule for the delivery, and this time, I made sure to personally receive the documents.

Upon delivery, the rider will verify the validity of the ID you presented and confirm your identity.

TIPS IN ORDERING YOUR FROM PSA HELPLINE

💡 Make sure that you are present at the time of the delivery; otherwise, it won’t be handed to another person even if you left an authorization letter with your ID.

💡 Make sure that you have your valid ID with you for verification purposes.

Here are some helpful links for you for the upcoming enrollment:
