A Dose of Happiness in Bangkok at Nappiness Hotel

When you travel, you explore and discover a lot of opportunities, and this is exactly what I experienced when I found happiness in Bangkok at the Nappiness Hotel last month 😁😍❤️. Well, despite of my terrible experience in the immigration and the flight schedule on the first day of my solo travel, I still managed to have a memorable travel in Bangkok.

Why Nappiness Hotel?

Nappiness Hotel <unk> was my home in Bangkok for 3 days and 2 nights while I was covering the Thailand Fashion Week. Meanwhile, I was hoping to do something unusual, so enough for stunning city views for a while; instead, I wanted to unwind in a comfortable room with a canal view.

The Location 📍

Nappiness Hotel is situated on Phra Sumen Road, right next to the Banglumphu Canal in old town, Bangkok.

iIts prime location, which is walking distance from Khao Road, provides easy access to the following:

☕️ Cafes

🏬 Book shop

🏪 Convenience store

Transportation 🚗 to Nappiness Hotel 🏨

Because I have my own travel agency (Tripsdiary Travel and Tours), I took care of my own transfers for my Bangkok trip (roundtrip airport, inter-hotel transfer, and hotel to the event venue)

One of the drivers (Dom), informed me that Nappiness Hotel has a very good location because it’s in the central to everything,

My First Impression

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much— I just wanted to try the Canal in Love room, but I never thought I would really have a wonderful time and enjoy my privacy during my stay.

The facade

The facade of Nappiness Hotel

It’s just a simple boutique hotel 🏨, painted in white, but I couldn’t contain the excitement as I enter. I wondered if the lobby is as simple and plain as the exterior.

The lobby

As it was a small hotel, I wasn’t expecting a spacious and magnificent lobby, but I was pleasantly surprised. It has a reception area and a lounge for visitors and guests. It wasn’t cheap-looking after all. The interior was contemporary and new.

There is a freight lift (for luggage), but you need to take the stairs to go to your room.

The Check-in Process

I was in a hurry when I arrived because I need to go to Varavela Garden for the Thailand Fashion Week rehearsals. Luckily, the front desk staff at the time was Som, who was very accommodating. Upon checking in, I received a note <unk> from Nappiness after quick verification. I also received vouchers from Café Valledome, the on-site restaurant.

My room (Canal in Love)

I got to check my Canal In Love room after the TFW rehearsals and I loved it!😍😍😍

I felt relaxed and comfortable because it has everything I need for my stay and it is spacious (35 sq m).

The Hotel Amenities

Lounge

It has a lounge or waiting area where visitors and guests can hang out.

Cafe Valledome

Cafe Valledome is located on the ground floor. They serve all-day breakfast🍳 , cakes 🍰 and gelato, and of course coffee ☕

Function Room

The function room (112 sq. m) is located on the first floor. It can be utilized to host business events and other important occasions (50 pax classroom, 75 pax theatre and 100 pax cocktail)

Other room categories

  • Smile Box Twin ( 17 sq m, 2 single beds, max of 2 guests)
  • Smile Box King (17 sq m, 1 King bed, max of 2 gueests)
  • Giggle Bench (22 sq m, 2 single beds, bench, max of 2 guests)
  • Fun Family (33 sq m, 4 single beds, max of 4 guests)
  • Canal In Love (35 sq m, 1 king bed, long bench, balcony, canal view, max of 3 guests)

Below are photos of the Giggle Bench Room (taken during the ocular I had a day before my departure back to Manila) I wasn’t able to check the other room categories because those were occupied at that time.

Room Tour

I am delighted to show you around. I bet that you were also amazed at the contemporary and neat design. I think the white walls have contributed to this (the illusion to make the room more spacious, plus it made me feel focused). My personal space here after the press trip has been enjoyable, as I had the opportunity to rest and work during my free time. A moment of unrestrained time, with no distractions, is all that’s needed to focus on something. I’m happy that I was able to do that at Nappiness Hotel.

Below is the video of my Bangkok Day 2 trip which includes the quick room tour of Canal In Love 👎

What I liked about Nappiness Hotel 🏨

🔘 Cleanliness

I had no problem at all in maintaining the cleanliness of the room because the housekeeping staff cleans the room daily. There was no need for me to call and remind them.

🔘 Freebies (coffee, toiletries, other kits)

There is a complimentary tea 🍵 and coffee sachet daily, with 2 bottles of water, and welcome goodies like chips and cookies.

🔘 Veranda and view

During my press trip, I had the opportunity to destress as I enjoyed the “feels” of Italy every time I gaze at the window or go to my veranda.

You can spend some time if you want you breathe some fresh air and unwind. It’s also a perfect spot for coffee time ☕️

Spacious bathroom

I loved the spacious bathroom, especially the shower area. It was very relaxing to have a hot shower bath.

WIFI connection

Though I have subscribed to Globe roaming, the WIFI in the hotel has helped me a lot. I brought my iPad where I watch Netflix K-dramas and do business tasks at the same time.

Front desk staff/concierge

Thank you, Som 🥰❤️

During my stay, Som was really helpful to me, and I think she deserves to be acknowledged for it. She has remembered all my instructions when I checked in. She also accompanied me to the bridge where I took snapshots of the hotel right next to the Banglumphu Canal.

The other receptionists were also helpful (I just don’t remember their names)

They were approachable and even though I was not able to reserve a room service massage, I am always grateful because they did their best.

Food 🥘

I had breakfast at Cafe Valledome, where I got 20 % discount for for the all-day breakfast, sweet and gelato, and free coffee ☕️

In my first day, I had enjoyed the scrambled eggs and the cappuccino. I just needed this intense coffee flavor to help me be energized through the busy day.

On my last day at Nappiness Hotel, I got to enjoy the sour and tangy taste of the creamy cheesecake. This is perfect to be paired with the iced latte (just to match my mood for that day) I

Clean toilet 🚽 in the ground floor

There is a clean toilet for visitors and guests on the ground floor. I was impressed the first time I used it before I leave for the press trip after I checked in. It was properly maintained, and spotless.

Comfortability & Sleep quality 🛌 😴💤

I really felt comfortable, with the soft queen bed covered with clean beddings (This is why I was able to relax). The aircon was also working and the temperature can be controlled.

Free water at the lobby

There is free water in the lobby for guests, but I wasn’t able to refill my bottle. Since I’m alone the 2 bottles per day is enough for me to consume.

Suggestions

💡 Put a mirror 🪞 near the door or closet. The guests would like to see their full-body look, especially the women 😁

💡 Consider having a lift not just for the luggage, but for the guests as well.

💡 Placing air freshners for each room will help to destroy any unpleasant smell.

💡 Please include a spa service for exhausted guests who don’t want to go out.

Is this worth your money?

It’s definitely a great value for your money. I’m sure you’ll love Nappiness Hotel too!

Overall Impression & Recommendations

I highly recommend Nappiness Hotel if you want to have a memorable experience while you are in Bangkok. Next time I visit I will make sure to have a longer stay in Thailand with my family, and I will let them experience happiness in this hotel 😁
