Celebrate World Sight Day by Loving Your Eyes ๐Ÿ‘€

It is indeed a blessing and a privilege to see God’s marvelous creations every day. Unfortunately, people don’t realize this. One way of showing some love is by supporting IAPB’s (The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) campaign for World Sight Day celebration 2022.

Why do we celebrate World Sight Day?

People around the world celebrate World Sight Day today, October 13, 2022, to raise public awareness about the importance of eye care. Through this, IAPB educates people about blindness and vision impairment as one of the major international public issues.

How can we support IAPB’s “Love Your Eyes” Campaign?

Each year, the IAPB promotes the campaign by collaborating with global partners and ambassadors to show the world that it is important to #LoveYourEyes. You don’t need to be an influencer or a celebrity to take part in this important event. Whether you are an ordinary individual, organization, or a business, you can get involved. Here’s how:

  • Protect your eyes. You can support the #WorldSightDay2022 by simply protecting your own eyes. Keep your eyes clean and free of dirt. If you experience vision issues, schedule a vision test at the nearest eye clinic. The physician will advise you if you need to purchase a set of eyeglasses.
  • Make a pledge. IAPB’s aim is to get 5 million pledges to get their eyes tested. The good news is that, they have already reached the target number of pledges (I already have made a pledge!) It’s not too late to have your pledge be counted–you can still make a pledge here. You can also share your pledge graphic tool using your social media channels to encourage everyone to make their pledge too.
  • Share your content for the “Love Your Eyes” campaign. In today’s digital world, almost everyone uses different social media for their content. Regardless of how many followers you have, the important thing you can do today is to support the IAPB by sharing your content. You can download different resource tools on their website, or you can create your own. If you are an educator, you can incorporate lessons about vision care and share informative videos, infographics, articles and creative photos.

No matter how you have supported this campaign, as long as you have done your part in this global challenge, your participation is already of great help. Let’s work together to create a better future. Thank you so much for sparing your time again in reading this post. Until next time!

Love,
