Hello there! It’s Day 20 of our ECQ and as I have promised in my previous post, I will be posting more vlogs to keep myself busy and productive. Today is April 3, 2020 and we are going to celebrate “Poet in A Cupcake” .I picked two of my favorite poets (Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost). I printed their pictures and as what I have mentioned in my vlog, I will post the poems here.

BECAUSE I COULD NOT STOPPED FOR DEATH by Emily Dickinson

Because I could not stop for Death-
He kindly stopped for me--
The Carriage held just Ourselves--
And Immortality.

We slowly drove--he knew no haste
And I had to put away
my labor and my lesiure too,
For His Civility--

We passed the School, where children strove
At Recess-- in the Ring--
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain--
We passed the Setting Sun--

Or rather--He passed Us--
The Dews drew quivering and Chill-
For only Gossamer, my Gown--
My Tippet-- only Tulle--

We paused before a House that seemed
A swelling of the Ground--
The Roof was scarcely visible--
The Cornice-- in the Ground--

Since then- 'tis Centuries-- and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised the Horses' Heads
Were toward Eternity--

STOPPING BY WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
he will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep.
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Emily Dickinson’s message is about suffering. Obviously, the speaker in poem wanted to end her suffering. In the second one, Frost’s poem wanted the same but he figured out that he has an unfinished business to do and it will be a long journey.

I hope you have enjoyed my vlog about Poet in A Cupcake Activity. I will look for other activities that we can do for Holy Week. Please don’t forget to subscribe in my YT channel.
